This place is amazing!!
I remember years ago when I first read Dragon Sword and Wind Child after finding it inthe school library. I totally fell in love with it and tried to find out more. I ended up at your old website, and felt really happy that other people loved the book so much (my friends weren't experiencing the same joy I was, even when I finally got them to read it...). Your new site is amazing!! And thank you for the summary things of the sequels. I've been dying for info on those books, but could never really find anything. Also, since I bought hakuchou iden (but i can't really read it. darn kanji) and wanted to know the general story.
I hope viz publishes the rest of the series. Thank you so much for your beautiful site!

Your site is pretty fantastic. I myself found this book in the corner of an old library up in Alaska, and I checked it out so regularly that I'm sure every librarian knew my name. Finally got my own copy when it was reprinted, and I was glad I no longer had to face the temptation of stealing it from the library. The most important thing for me about the book, however, was the author's note at the end, which referenced the CS Lewis quote. I began writing because of that sentiment. And while, if I do ever get around to having the confidence to publish some of my original work, it'll still be years before I can really focus on improving my writing ability again, I am still very happy that I got the chance to entertain my friends and family with what I've been able to produce, starting with a tiny five chapter story that I carefully typed out on an old typewriter and illustrated to give to my sisters for Christmas. I think I owe a lot of that joy to Dragon Sword and Wind Child, and I hope that the remaining two novels are translated and published by Viz. Because picking through the originals in my rudimentary Japanese is an uphill battle.

I ordered DSaWC a few days ago. This morning the book arrived. Its first pages hooked me so I kept on reading for hours until I finished it a few minutes ago. Although I have been a fan of anime and manga for half of my thirty years (and read Western science fiction and fantasy even longer), I never read a Japanese novel before until today. I found DSaWC to be a great story and a beautiful example of Japanese fantasy. My only complaint is that the book does not have more pages in it! I would love to read the rest of the books but unfortunately this is up to Viz.

My golly, it's been so long since I read DSaWC, that I really do need to pick it up again. I just can't seem to find a copy anywhere

It is such a beautiful story, I can't wait to find out how it goes on.
